This majestic Log Chalet is a luxurious yet rustic Centennial Log Home located directly on Schuss Mountain’s Chicken’s Choice ski run. Chicken's Choice is lighted for night skiing. Only minutes from Shanty Creek’s Arnold Palmer designed Legend Golf Course this is the perfect golf or ski retreat.

The upper level of the Log Chalet sleeps two in the huge master suite’s custom cedar twig-log bed. The master bath has a two-person jetted tub, two sinks, and a shower built for two in a luxurious room with heated floors. Just outside the master suite is a large loft with two very comfortable futon sleepers to accommodate four more guests. This photo was shot from the ski hill looking back at the home. The main level of the Log home has two more bedrooms, a full bath with very large shower, and a ½ bath complete with full-size washer and dryer. Both bathrooms have heated floors. The second bedroom sleeps two in a custom log queen bed, and the third bedroom will accommodate four more in two sets of log bunk beds. There is a stunning full kitchen with an island, a vaulted dining area with seating for eight, and a breathtaking vaulted living area with a wood-burning fireplace overlooking the ski hill.

The walkout level sleeps up to four in one large bedroom with an oversized queen pineapple-bed and an exceptionally comfortable futon in the living area. There is also a small full-kitchen and a natural stone bathroom with a jetted tub. All of the floors in the walkout level are heated! You haven’t lived until you have walked on heated floors barefoot! This is not your average “lower level”; there are 30 feet of windows looking out on the ski hill! Just on the other side of Schuss Mountain is the new Tom Weiskopf designed Cedar River Golf Course.

The total chalet sleeps up to sixteen in ten individual beds:
3 queens, 4 twins, 3 futon sleeper sofas.

Enjoy all that Northern Michigan has to offer. Enjoy downhill skiing on Schuss Mountain, golf at the Legend, the Bear, the Cedar River course, or your favorite Northern Michigan golf resort. Swim indoors or outdoors at Schuss Mountain's pool. Soak in the 6-person hot tub after a tough day on the links or the snow. Ride snowmobiles all the way to the UP. Or just curl up with a good book in front of the fire.

Shanty Creek is only 20 minutes from Boyne Mountain, and 40 minutes from Traverse City. Enjoy a sunset over Torch Lake (only 15 minutes away and voted one of the ten most beautiful lakes in the world). Sail on Lake Bellaire, or collect Petoskey Stones on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Lake Bellaire is just minutes away, so bring your boat; the launch is only a few miles away! You can swim, or boat the entire "Chain of Lakes" (Torch, Bellaire, Elk, Clam, and Skegemog). Stroll through small-town Bellaire and enjoy the laid-back resort-town atmosphere and local shops.

4WD or AWD is highly recommended during the ski season (or anytime from mid September to late April when snow is a possibility).
